Day 27 I just hate it how there are but two options as a girl when it comes to armor: Either you’re…well, naked, OR you have to wear ‘adjusted’ armor actually meant for guys. So excuse me for feeling gleeful whenever there are some nifty armor designs for women, that actually look like you can fight in them.
An honest resume
Day 26 Some things I will - most likely - never mention on my resume. Unfortunately we all want be lied to. Honesty is only for the stupid brave. And yeah, I really have a fear of telephones. My next goal in life is to have a job where I never have to deal with those things ever again.
You got it: Flight 8 →
alexds1: Right around when I was starting to first take my art seriously, I began reading a bunch of webcomics. Stuff like Copper by Kazu Kibuishi, Return to Sender by Vera Brosgol, the defunct comics Red String by Jen Wang, Reman Mythology by Amy Kim Ganter and Cascadia by Clio Chang. They went on…
Day 24 & 25 Due to life being sucky at the moment I just have one image for these two days. I’m really have to get back to the daily postings! No excuses! The whole point of this blog is to keep myself from procrastinating each and every day…
Day 22 & 23 Gotta make up for missing my update yesterday! So here are two sketches! The first one features two ladies we already met in the past… and then some random stuff. Don’t know what the slug has to do with anything, actually.
Day 21 I went for a walk after work today and saw this guy with some wicked hairdo! Too bad the rest of him looked like an ‘artsy’ douche. My expression when I passed the café where he was sitting must I’ve been something like this:
Day 20 I love curly hair!
A drawing a day...
Day 19 Cleaning out more of the stuff in my ‘doodle’ folders, as most of it will never be finished anyway. I think I’m starting to like ‘subtle’ colors. :)
Day 18 My plans to make something more elaborate today were foiled by family coming over unexpectedly. So here’s a sketch I did at work…
Day 17 I was going through my older stuff and I noticed this one. Never posted it online yet I always kinda liked the feeling of it. I’m fine with any interpretation but in my mind they don’t represent (something so cliché as) good and evil. To me they are lovers, separated in form but not in mind. Ok, that’s enough mystical stuff for today!
Faery - part two
Day 16 Felt like doing a close-up of the faery I sketched a couple of days ago. Now with a hint of color. Meh, gonna try to draw something more interesting tomorrow.
Day 15 Let’s face it, Cheetahs know about these things.
Turtles and stuff
Day 14 More old stuff I’m afraid. Can’t use scanner atm. So here are some ‘research’ sketches for an idea, totally un-related to that would-be webcomic project. Ahum.
Day 13 An older sketch, I forgot the one I made today at work…for once that I actually draw something there. “Sometimes, finding the key requires you to jump in muddy waters.” So much for poetry today.
Day 12 Today I was thinking to rework some of my old (like really old) stuff for that ‘kick your own ass’ meme that’s floating around the artsy websites. But then I was just way too tired from work and drew some generic faery crap instead… I suck at drawing hands, STILL! Must practice more!
Day 11 Some sketches of dudes! Randomness, yes!
Meanwhile, trying to make a new site
Day 10 I’ve been trying to make a new portfolio site/blog for a while now but I just can’t get it to work. So for the time being I’m making a simple, one page html to redirect people to where I’m currently updating my stuff (which is here on tumblr). This is part of the (background) image: Back to good ol’ ballpoint on paper (edited in PS)!
Day 9 Dammit! Due to unforeseen circumstances I actually missed my daily update by a couple of minutes…Luckily that I have a steady sketch supply so I don’t have to improvise at the spot! (I’m honestly no good at that) So here are some silly doodles while watching Prince of Persia - The Forgotten Sands (yeah, watching someone else play indeed)
Day 8 This idea has been hanging around for a while. Instead of never finishing the illustration I planned for it I’ll just upload it here, as a sketch. Oh, & this is my first digital sketch I’m posting here!
I hope this isn't the future
This really leaves me speechless…just magnificent and sad beyond words. By Zhuangyue Xiao
Day 7 Didn’t feel like drawing much today, so here are some kitties! Well, Furzians to be exact. More about them some other time!
More unannounced friends
Day 6 Meet Christa(right) & Josie(left, omg she smokes!), they just popped on the page and bam, now I’m stuck with a story for them. Let’s see if I can actually make something out of this… to be continued
Ol' Granny Yin
Day 5 A totally minor side character for a story (I don’t dare to say webcomic anymore) I’m working on. As all characters tend to have a mind of their own, this one is no different and has been taking up more of my time than was really necessary. But she’s just so fun to draw! Argh!
You got it: Hey, webcomics-makin' people! →
alexds1: You might have heard that Lackadaisy is up for an Eisner award this year! Do you know who votes for the Eisner winners?? That’s right, it’s you. Voting is open until the 13th, and you can do it right here (she is on page 2)! If you’re like me and don’t really read print comics, you can…
Day 4 When driving home, my playlist on shuffle, I heard Bird Song by Florence & the Machine and it struck me as a very appropriate song for my current state of mind. Don’t know where the hatchet came from though…scary.
This is something I have to remind myself of: don’t become like the grumpy old dude. More great stuff can be found here: Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal
Day three Just some skeletons in the closet…
Wondermark is definitely one of my favorite webcomics, of all time.
Demons - part one
Day two I don’t know who or what this guy is, but I have the strange inclination to call it ‘guilt’.
And so it begins
And so it begins… Day 1 You can always tell how hot it is by what people are wearing. Considering the amount of beachwear I’ve seen today, it must be a gazillion degrees outside. I’m still wearing a scarf of course. This is my preferred summer get up: More sketches today! Soli from the Meek (not very accurate though, I was drawing from memory…)
