I’ve had this conversation countless times. “Oh but science is so cool and fascinating”. Well the results sure are amazing but I don’t see you rushing off to spend all your waking hours on research.
I have the utmost respect for any scientist willing to dedicate their time and focus to all the complex puzzles in our universe, I know I would lose interest way too quickly.
